Megan Kennedy, Hill City, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year. She also will throw for the track and field team.
Kennedy is a defensive specialist from Hill City High School where she had 224 digs, 37 assists and 42 service aces. She also competed four years in both trackand field and basketball.

Volleyball Coach Nathaela Stephenson said, "Megan comes to Bethany having been involved with several state teams. She does a very nice job of passing the ball and has an attitude of not letting a ball hit the floor. She understands what it takes to get the job done and works hard at delivering the ball to the setter."

Off the court, Kennedy was active in National Honor Society, FCCLA, pep club, Science Olympiad, Scholar's Bowl and student council. She is a 2010 Kansas Governor's Scholar.

Kennedy is the daughter of Verl and Melanie Kennedy. She has a 3.87 high school GPA. At Bethany, she plans to study education.
