Erik Giacomozzi, Englewood, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Giacomozzi is a 6'4" 195 lb. guard from J.K. Mullen High School in Denver. There he earned second team all-conference honors, was named to the Webb-Toyota Classic all tournament team and twice earned first team all-academic honors. His senior season he averaged 8.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1 block, 1.1 steals and .7 assists. He shot 53 percent from the field, 74 percent from the line and 48 percent from the three-point range.
Bethany head basketball coach Clair Oleen said he is pleased to have Giacomozzi "join us from the storied and tradition-rich J.K. Mullen High School."

"Erik is a great student and person. He is a tall and long guard who can really shoot the three well," Oleen said.

Giacomozzi is the son of Michael and Nancy Giacomozzi. He has a 3.9 high school GPA. At Bethany he plans to study biology education.
