Blake Gehring, Damar, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Gehring is a 6'2" 160 lb. shooting guard from Palco High School. There averaged 14 ppg. and 8 rpg. Gehring earned first team all-league, second team all-area and all-state honorable mention honors. He also played football and was on the track and field team four seasons.

Off the court, Gehring was active in National Honor Society and was on the honor roll throughout high school.

Bethany head coach Clair Oleen said he looks forward to having Gehring at Bethany College. "Blake is a fine young man who possesses a fine knowledge of the game (of basketball)," Oleen said.

Gehring is the son of Monte and Lisa Gehring. He has a 3.25 high school GPA. At Bethany he plans to study physical education.
