Tommy Olson, Westminster, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Olson is a 5'11" 160 lb. guard from Jefferson Academy High School in Broomfield, Colo. There he earned all-region and all-state honorable mention honors and was a two-time Sixth Man award winner. Olson also was named MVP of the 2009-2010 season. His senior season, Olson averaged 14 ppg., 3.1 rpg., 2.5 steals and 3.2 assists. He shot 52 percent from the field, 59 percent from the line and 41 percent from the three-point range.
Bethany head basketball coach Clair Oleen said he is pleased to have Olson choose Bethany. "Tommy plays hard and can really shoot the ball," Oleen said. Olson joins former Jefferson Academy basketball players Danny Dodson and Jason Mihalcin, who will be sophomores at Bethany during the 2010-2011 academic year.
Off the court, Olson was on the school honor roll.
Olson is the son of Ray and Suzette Olson.
