Dexter Jackson, Jr., St. Helena Island, S.C., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Jackson is a 5'8" 160 lb. point guard who graduated from Wasson High School in Colorado Springs. He attended Beaufort High School, Beaufort, S.C. from ninth through 11th grade.

Jackson is a two-time MVP and three-time all tournament team member. He earned all-area, all-conference and all-region honors. He averaged 14 ppg. and four rebounds. Jackson shot 80 percent from the line.

Head Coach Clair Oleen said he is pleased to have Jackson choose Bethany College. "Dexter is a fine athlete who we think will develop as a fine basketball player at Bethany," Oleen said. He noted that Jackson is from the same high school as 2009-2010 all-American Rodd Williams.

Jackson also played football and competed in track and field.

Jackson is the son of Dexter, Sr. and Debra Jackson. At Bethany he plans to study physical education.
