The Bethany Men's tennis team finished the year with a 7th Straight KCAC title and a 6th consecutive trip to the NAIA National Tournament.  The men had one of the youngest teams in recent memory, but played better every match to finish the year as one of the best teams Bethany men have had ,and clearly the most improved over the course of a season.  Under the leadership of  super sophs Jack Schoeman,  Will Wiseman and Kody Koester the men worked hard during the year, showing great effort and sportsmanship all year on the court, and it showed by the end of the season.
The men also return 5 freshman from last year Shane Huggins, Caleb Jeff, Sahaj Jayanth, Gabe Paull and Fernando Paiva , and with the addition of top transfers Carlos Souza (Seward CC) and Mats Flodin (AUM) along with freshman Matthew Stutt, Matias Leal-Jofre and Nick Hebert , the team looks to be very strong for next year, .
The women saw their streak of 4 straight KCAC titles end with a very young squad and now look to bounce back next year.   The women were very young also and look to improve at every spot to battle hard again next year to get the KCAC Title  they have dominated in since 2000 back.  As Coach Bateman said "although this was one of the youngest teams we have had, we competed very hard and improved a lot during the year.  We fell just short in the tournament semi finals, but it was one of my favorite teams to coach and one of the most enjoyable years coaching I have ever had.  It is a great bunch of girls that we will return."  The women will add a couple of new girls to the squad including Nicole Tyson who we hope will jump into the top 6 and make an immediate impact.  Graduating for Bethany was Nyska Etienne who will be a tough girl to replace as she was a unanimous first team All KCAC player and won the number one flight as a senior at the KCAC tournament.  The men graduate All KCAC performer senior Derek Watson. Senior All KCAC First Team player Stacie Schoon will be counted on to lead next years ladies squad.
