Senior Nick O'Loughlin
The
Bethany College indoor track and field team competed at the Iowa State Cyclone
Open in Ames, Iowa, January 21-22.
Senior Nick O'Loughlin, Hugoton, Kan., broke the school
record in the 600-yard run with a time of 1:12.77, which qualifies
him for nationals. He held the previous record with a time of
1:13.56. O'Loughlin is currently ranked eighth in the nation. Senior Kate
Dibbern, York, Neb., ran a personal best time of
18:57 in the 5000m run. Senior Ira Autrey, Jr., Houston, Texas, qualified for
nationals in the long jump with a jump of 23 feet 5 inches. He is currently ranked
third in the nation.
Bethany next travels to Crete, Neb., for the Kip Janvrin
Multi-Events Meet on January 29-30.
