Josh Weninger, a senior left fielder from Colwich, Kan., has been named KCAC Position Player of the Week.
Weninger helped the Swedes to a 3-1 record in four baseball games this week versus Ottawa University. He had a total of six runs and five runs batted in. Weninger went a combined 10-13 in the KCAC Conference opening series for a .769 batting average.
Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Cantrell says, "Josh had a really good weekend. The goal of our offense is to have nine guys working together to break down the one pitcher. Josh took advantage of the opportunities that he had to help the team win."
Weninger is the son of Jon Weninger and Susan Bloom and is majoring in biology.
