Kelli Traffas, freshman from Medicine Lodge, Kan., has been named the KCAC Softball Player of the Week.

In four games and twelve at bats last week, Traffas had seven hits, seven runs, twelve runs batted in, two doubles, and five home runs. She helped the team win four games against Tabor College and University of Saint Mary. The softball team is currently ranked number one in the conference with a 6-0 record.

Head Coach Janice Esses says, "Kelli has made a huge impact on this program. It is hard to believe she is only a freshman. She is leading our team with 12 home runs and 42 RBI's! She is a hard worker and often works on her hitting after practice or on her own in the cages. Her hard work is truly paying off! She had a great week against Tabor and University of St. Mary. I am proud of her honor of KCAC Position Player of the week. Kelli is an exciting player to watch."

Traffas is the daughter of Rory and Jacqueline Traffas and is majoring in math and engineering.
