In Lincoln, Nebraska, seven athletes competed at the Holiday Inn Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska on January 12-13, 2007.   Day 1 Results  -  Day 2 Results
 
A top performance was turned in by Jessica Becker, a junior from Capitan, NM, who placed 7th in the women's seeded shot put with 42-11.00 on Saturday.  The seeded shot put featured the top 13 performers entered in the meet.

On Friday, Sarah Helm, a sophomore from Seneca, KS, placed 16th in the 60m hurdles with a season best time of 9.62.  In the semi-finals on Saturday, she was 14th in 9.65, failing to make the finals.

For the men, senior Nathan Whitcomb of Cottonwood Falls, KS, placed 3rd in the men's unseeded weight throw with 49-02.25 on Friday.  Also competing that day were Brian Chapman, a sophomore from Lincoln, NE, who ran the 60m hurdles in 9.25, and Nhial Malia, a sophomore from Highlands, TX, who ran the 3000m run in 9:52.86.  Both of them had season best performances.

On Saturday, January 20, 2007, 14 athletes will travel to Kearney, NE, to compete in the Loper Open, hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney.  The following day, Helm will compete at the Kip Janvrin Pentathlon, hosted by Doane College in Crete, NE.  This will be Helm's first pentathlon of her career.
