Will Gibson, Portland, Ore., has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Bethany College for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Gibson is transferring to Bethany from De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif. Prior to college, he attended Grant High School in Portland, Ore. He earned first-team all-league honors three years and all-state pitcher and infielder during his senior year. Gibson was ranked the No. 1 prospect in Oregon for class of 2006 by Baseball Northwest and Team one Baseball.

Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Cantrell says, “I am excited to have Will a part of the program. His ability to pitch and play in the field is going to help the team in many ways.”

Gibson is the son of William and Karen Gibson and he plans to major in finance.
