The Bethany College women's basketball team lost last week to Sterling College and University of Saint Mary.

On Feb. 9 the team hosted Sterling College, losing 53-77.

Tasha Wagoner led the team with 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Wagoner was five for nine from the field, one for two from beyond the arc and four for six from the line.

Kendra Austin tallied nine points for Bethany with four rebounds and two assists. She was four for 15 from the field and one for seven from the three.

Heather Eddings added seven for the Swedes.

As a team, Bethany shot 38 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from the three-point range and 64.7 percent from the line.

In their final home game of the regular season, the Swedes lost 48-59 to University of Saint Mary.

As a team, Bethany shot 33.3 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from the three and 40 percent from the line.

Wagoner led the team with 16 points, nine total rebounds and four assists. She was seven for 12 from the field and two for two from the three.

Tanya Garner chalked up 12 points for Bethany with six rebounds and two assists. Garner was five for 12 from the field, zero for one from beyond the arc and two for four from the line.

Nicole Felker scored 11 points. She was four for nine from the field and three for seven from the three.

The team wraps up regular season play on the road this week. On Feb. 16 the team travels to Winfield to face Southwestern College, ranked 17th in the NAIA. On Feb. 18 the team will travel to McPherson College.

The Swedes currently are 1-15 in the KCAC.

Friends University leads the conference at 14-2, followed by Southwestern College with a 13-3 record. Kansas Wesleyan is third at 11-5 with Sterling College fourth at 10-6. Ottawa University is fifth, McPherson College sixth and Bethel College seventh. University of Saint Mary holds eighth-place followed by Tabor College and then Bethany.
