Greggory Johnson, Aurora, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Johnson, a 5-foot-8 guard, comes to Bethany from Smoky Hill High School, where he played basketball. His senior year statistics include 11.2 points per game, two rebounds per game, and a 65% free throw average.

In addition to basketball, Johnson also participated in football and track and field. He earned All-Conference honors and Most Valuable Player accolades in football. During his senior year he was awarded the Three-Sport Varsity Athlete Award. Johnson was also on the honor roll.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Clair Oleen says, "We are pleased to have Greggory Johnson join us at Bethany. Greggory was recommended to us by Bethany alum, Kendall Cotton, who played for the late George Stephens and graduated from Bethany in 1982. Greggory is a hard worker and competitor who we expect to be a fine junior varsity player as a freshman and develop in the basketball program"

Johnson is the son of Greg Johnson and Theresa Huigen. He plans to major in sports management.
