Jonathan Armendariz, Modesto, Calif., has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Armendariz is transferring to Bethany from Merced College. Prior to college, he attended Johansen High School, where he was a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. In 2009, Armendariz earned second-team all-conference and second-team all-county honors. In 2010, he earned first-team all-conference and first-team all-county honors.

Head Baseball Coach Jeremy Cantrell says, "I am excited about Jon making the commitment to come to Bethany College. He is hungry to continue his education and baseball career.  Jon will have the opportunity to pitch and play a position."

Armendariz is the son of David and Lori Armendariz and plans to major in criminal justice.
