Tanner Gardner, Clearwater, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Gardner comes to Bethany from Clearwater High School, where he wrestled all four years. He earned first-team all-league honors for two years at 189 and first-team all-league honors one year at 170.
In addition to wrestling, Gardner also played football for four years.
Head Wrestling Coach Jacob Marrs says, "We are pleased that Tanner will join our program next year. He has all the physical tools to be an outstanding college wrestler. Tanner is going to benefit Bethany as a student, athlete, and citizen. We will enjoy having Tanner as a part of our community and family here at Bethany. Go Swedes!"
Gardner is the son of Wesley Gardner and Jackie Wentworth. He has a 3.24 grade point average and plans to major in education.
