The Swede Golf Scramble took place on Saturday, July 14, at the Lindsborg Golf Course. Twenty-nine teams comprised of 87 golfers participated in the event.

Flight one champions were Adam Swisher, Tom Vernon, and Mike Vernon. Taking second place was Scott Taylor, Brian Bengtson, and Mark Bengtson. Both teams shot 12 under and had to go to a tie breaker.

Flight two champions were Pete Workman, Brad Daily, and Steve Sjogren shooting a three under par. The second place team was Andy Carlson, Nick Brumbaugh, and Jim Osner shooting a one under par.

"We had a record setting turnout for our Swede Scramble this year along with a record number of sponsors," says Head Football Coach Jamie Cruce.

Cash prizes of $10,000 for a hole-in-one and $2,500 for a 60-foot putt were offered; however, no players won.

"Several former players made it back to join in on the event.  It was great to see all of the support for our football program and it's always enjoyable to spend time with our alumni and supporters," Cruce adds. "We could not have a successful football program without the support of these individuals."
