Bethany College boasts three National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA) Scholar Teams for the 2011-2012 academic year. Men's golf, softball, and volleyball have all earned NAIA Scholar Team honors.
Men's golf recorded a 3.21 grade point average with 11 men on the roster. The team also won the Golf Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award. Jon Daniels has been the head coach for 18 seasons.
The softball team recorded a 3.24 grade point average with 21 women on the roster. Head coach Janice Esses enters her twelfth season.
The volleyball team recorded a 3.59 grade point average with 23 women on the roster. The team also won the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. Nathalea Stephenson begins her fifth season as head coach.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible. To view a complete list of recipients click here.
