Brian Donaire, Longmont, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play men's basketball at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Donaire, a six-foot-two guard, comes to Bethany from Longmont High School, where he played basketball and soccer. In basketball, Donaire averaged 11.4 points per game, 4.3 rebounds per game, and 1.9 assists per game. He had a 67% free throw percentage and a 53% field goal percentage.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Clair Oleen says, "We are pleased to have Brian Donaire join Bethany. Brian is a long and athletic guard who is very versatile as he can shoot the three well, get to the rim, rebound, and defend anywhere on the court. Brian has a lot of upside and potential to develop at Bethany. He comes to us after playing his senior year at Longmont High School under the tutelage of highly respected Coach Jeff Kloster."

Donaire is the son of Velitza Donaire and plans to major in 3+2 engineering.
