Lawrence Williams II, Lafayette, La., has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Williams is transferring to Bethany from Colby Community College. Prior to college, Williams attended  Northside High School in Lafayette, where he was an all-state wrestler, placing third at the state tournament. In addition to wrestling, Williams also played football.

Head Wrestling Coach Jacob Marrs says, "Lawrence will be one of the upperclassmen in our program as he transfers in. We expect him to bring a lot of maturity, class, and tenacity on and off the wrestling mat to our Bethany family. It is another great day to be a Swede!"

Williams is the son of Lawrence and Patricia Williams and plans to major in international business.
