Maria Bujanda, Salina, Kan., has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Bethany College for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Bujanda is transferring to Bethany from Cloud County Community College. Prior to college she attended Salina High School Central, where she played volleyball all four years. Bujanda earned second-team all-conference and all-region honors. In addition to volleyball Bujanda also played basketball and ran track all four years earning her the Triple Crown Athlete award.
Bujanda was in the SMG Honor Program and won the Moss Mustang Award.
Head Volleyball Coach Nathalea Stephenson says, "We are very excited to have Maria as a Swede. She is a very intense player and one that knows the game. She will help us in the middle right away and we are looking for great things from her. Maria is one of those players that when she steps on the court things happen. It will be fun to watch her continue her volleyball career at Bethany College."
Bujanda is the daughter of Jesus and Susana Bujanda and is undecided on her major at this time.
