The Swedes cross country program enjoyed a year with many personal bests and seasonal best performances. The team was committed to hard work, to their team, to training, and to their college experience as they continue their academic pursuit toward graduation. I could not be more proud of these young men and women; they push onward throughout the season with conviction and drive both athletically and academically.
As a coach, I work at creating an environment to prosper within and in doing such I look forward to helping each individual discover their own self-belief and value which in turn creates the true identity of the team. Our future is heading in the correct direction as both women's and men's teams are building in numbers and the new recruiting season looks to bring new prospects into this welcoming environment we call Bethany College.
This year's cross country team grew in numbers and improved all across the board. We have a very young team made up of mostly freshman and sophomores so our main focus was development and gradual progression, which we definitely experienced. Not only did all of runners have personal best performances, but also they improved in the classroom and as representatives of Bethany. I was very proud of how team bonded and helped one another on the field and outside of practice.
