Kara Agamaite, junior from Murrieta, Calif., has earned the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year award for women's tennis.
Agamaite also earned Second-Team All-KCAC honors as selected by conference tennis coaches.
Head Tennis Coach Vic Bateman says, "Kara has been great for our team this year, with a great attitude and work ethic. She has improved all year and become one of the top players in our conference. We look forward to Kara continuing to make an impact this post season and into next fall."
Agamaite was 11-6 in singles this year playing in the number 1 and number 2 positions and 8-10 in doubles.
The Swedes women's team ended their regular season 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the KCAC.
Agamaite is the daughter of Michael Agamaite and Janine Peterson and is majoring in biology.
