Signing a letter of intent with the Bethany College Cross Country/Track & Field teams on February 2, 2008, Larry Martinez, a distance runner from Lyons High School in Lyons, KS, became the 2nd member of the 2008 recruiting class for both teams. Martinez, the son of Larry and DeeAnn Martinez, has not decided on his college major.
In cross country, Martinez owns a 5K personal best of 17:45 and concentrates on the 1600m and 3200m races in track & field. He has been an honor roll member and attended the Scholar's Banquet at Lyons High School for 4 years as he has maintained a 3.91 GPA.
