Hui Jin Kim will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Hui Jin will graduate from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, CO. Hui Kin has participated in cheerleading, soccer, and tennis throughout high school. She is involved in National Honor Society, Student Government Association, Spanish Club, MESA (Math Engineering Science Achievement), as well as various community services. She has many academic honors including excellence Academic Award, Principals and Athletic Honor Roll, and Academic All State 1st Team.
Coach Ana states, "Hui Jin is an excellent pick up for Bethany College as a whole. She is an extremely disciplined student and hard working athlete. She strives to excell at anything she does and is willing to work just as hard. She is athletic but more importantly coachable-which will help her develop easily."
Hui Jin is the daughter of Nam Kim and Yeong Kim. She plans to major in Chemistry and Pre-med.

Cally Owsley will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Cally will graduate from Tonganoxie High School. She has participated in dance throughout high school. She is a dual recruit for dance and soccer and will also be an asset to the cheerleading program at Bethany.
Coach Ana states, "We are very excited that Cally has decided to join our program. She is an intelligent and well experienced young lady who I am sure will progress in and benefit our program."

Emily Maxey will be a transfer student at Bethany College for the 2008-09 academic year. Emily is transferring from the University of Arkansas. During high school, her cheer squad won a High School NCA National Championship title.
Coach Ana states, "We are elated that Emily has chosen Bethany as the place to continue her education and cheerleading career. She is extremely talented and a very genuine and sweet person. She will add tumbling and flexibility in her flying to our team. Her talent will set the bar for college cheerleading in the KCAC. She will be a star in our program and our conference."

Joshua Garst will be a Junior transfer student at Bethany College for the 2008-09 academic year. Josh joins us from Cloud County Community College where he has been a yell leader for the last 2 years. At Pike Valley High School, Josh participated in Football and Track and Field. Josh went into the military ater high school and prior  to returning to Kansas for college.
Coach Ana states, "Josh is a good athlete for our program. He has a desire to learn, works hard and never quits. He has shown great improvement just in the few open gyms he has attended with us. We look forward to seeing what he can do in the future."
Joshua is the son of Kevin Wray Garst  & Jean Ann Garst. He plans to major in Social Work.

Jessica Sommerfeld will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Jessica will graduate from Ell Saline High School in Kansas. She participated in cheerleading, basketball and track throughout her high school years. He also is a member of National Honor Society and is the Vice President, Student Ambassadors, Relay for Life Committee, and Student Council.
Coach Ana states, "Jessica is a smart and dedicated student athlete. She has a true love and desire for cheerleading that makes her a great addition to the team."
Jessica is the daughter of Mark Sommerfeld. She plans to major in Biology.

Kristen Demel will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Kristen will graduate from Otis-Bison High School in Kansas. Kristen has participated in Cheerleading, Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, and Track throughout high school. She was an All American Cheerleader Nominee, is on her school honor roll, on the Dodge City honor band, and a National Honor Society member.
Coach Ana states, "Kristen's current fitness level and athleticism are key to her success as a college cheerleader. Kristen is very coachable and will be able to learn a lot in advancing her skills. She will be a base in quad stunts."
Kristen is the daughter of Tim Demel. She plans to major in Forensic Science with a minor in Art.

Haylee Akins will be a Freshman at Bethany College for the 2008-09 academic year. Haylee will graduate from Cameron High School in Missouri. Haylee will be a dual sport athlete at Bethany with Cheer and Softball. In high school Haylee has been an All American Cheerleader Nominee, Member of FFLA, FBLA, Student Council, All State and MVP in Softabll as well as selected as a Top Missouri Senior Player in Softball.
Coach Ana states, "Haylee's athleticism will serve her well at the college level. She is quick to learn, willing to try anything, and gives 100% to hitting her stunts. Haylee will be an excellent addition to our program. She will mostly back spot and base as needed."
Haylee is the daughter of Bill and Angie Akins. She plans to major in Biology/Chemistry.

Michelle Stebens will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 season. Michelle will graduate from Alva High School in Oklahoma. In high school Michelle participated in Track as well as Cheerleading. She was a member of FCCLA, FCA, Spanish Club and Art Club.
Coach Ana states, "Michelle is a very determined and focused young lady. She  has a genunie love for cheerleading and hopes to contribute to our program anyway she can. Michelle's willingness to try anything will serve her well in Bethany's program. Michelle contributes 100% effort to whatever she faces regardless of her numerous responsibilities. Michelle will be a tumbler, flyer and can base if needed."
Michelle is the daughter of Eda Stebens. She hopes to major in Vet. Medicine and Computer Engin.

Shane Valdez will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Shane will graduate from Moscow High School in Kansas. Shane will be a dual sport athlete at Bethany in Cheer and Track. Shane has participated in Cheer, Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Powerlifting in high school. She was a member of National Honor Society, KAYs, Band, and received honors in Volleyball (1st team all league), Baskteball (2nd team all league), and Track (MVP in 2006).
Coach Ana states, "Shane will be a great pickup for our team. We are fortunate to be able to share her talent with our track program and I am confident she will step up to the challenge of both. Her athleticism and desire to progress will serve her well at Bethany. Shane will be a flyer and base if needed."
Shane is the daughter of Marcie and Tom Valdez. She plans to major in Health and Wellness.

Sabrina Scroggin will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Sabrina will graduate from Circle High School, KS with academic honors. She has played softball and volleyball in addition to her high school varsity cheer squad.
Coach Ana states, "Sabrina's ability to immediately apply skills and technique quickly make her easy to coach and teach. She is a great cheerleader. Her commitment, self motivation and work ethic make her a great pick up for our growing program and academic programs. Sabrina will be primarily a flyer but may base when needed."
Sabrina is the daughter of Bill & Debbie Scroggin. Sabrina is currently undecided on what area she will pursue for her education.

Lisa Black will be a Freshman at Bethany for the 2008-09 academic year. Lisa will graduate from Ottawa High School with academic honors. She has participated in cheer squad throughout high school.
Coach Ana states, "Lisa is going to be great on our group stunts. I have confidence her experience backing and basing will help her transition smoothy to the college level. She is willing to try anything new things which will serve her well at the college level. Lisa is very excited about cheering at Bethany College and we are excited to have her. Lisa will be primarily a base/back."
Lisa is the daughter of Irv & Brenda Bowen. Lisa will be a Pre-med/Chemistry major.

Grace Henderson will be entering Bethany during interterm 2008. She has participated in high school and all star Cheerleading in her home state of Colorado.  She plans to return for the 2008-09 season.
Coach Ana states, "Grace is an excellent addition to our program. She is extremely versitile in her skills and positions she can fill. Grace has a desire to learn and push herself to the limit in order to progress. Her strength and work ethic are valuable to our team. Grace will be a tumbler and base/back."
Grace is the daughter of Laura Henderson.
