The Bethany College Baseball team played four games this week going unbeaten. The week started out with a two game set versus Concordia University, winning game one 8-0 and taking game two 13-3.

The week continued with games versus Briar Cliff University and Waldorf University. Saturday the Swedes took the field against Briar Cliff in a nine inning game coming out on top with a 7-0 victory.

On Sunday they welcomed Waldorf University in a series that was originally slated for two games but was cut to one due to unfortunate weather. The Swedes jumped out early and never looked back coming away with a 10-2 win.

“We played pretty well in these past four games. Our pitching staff did an outstanding job all week,” said coach Dinkel.

The Swedes bats also came to life, putting up 38 runs in the four games behind the hot bats of Andrew Ferguson, Danny Fernandez and Harold Holbert.

“I am pretty pleased with our offense right now. We still need to improve some but that will come with time,” said head coach Matt Tramel.

With the four wins it takes the Swedes overall record to 7-1 on the year.

The Bethany College baseball team will have a busy week ahead of them with eight games on schedule starting on Tuesday at home against Manhattan Christian College before traveling to Oklahoma Thursday to take on Hillsdale College in a two game set. The Swedes then head north to Nebraska with a four game series against Dana College  scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
