Competing at the Hutch Night Relays in Hutchinson, KS, on April 5, 2008, senior Hope Stieben of Otis, KS, met the "B" standard in the javelin which qualified her for the NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Edwardsville, IL. 
 
Stieben, who won the javelin with a season best throw and Hutch Night Relay meet record of 130-10.00, was one of two athletes who won events at the meet.  The other event winner was senior Anna Miller of Blue Rapids, KS.  Miller won the hammer with 147-11.00 and the discus with 116-07.00.
 
Other notable performances in the meet were by freshman Josie Schamp of Arvada, CO, who was 2nd in the discus with a personal best 113-01.00, and sophomore Stephanie Wilson of Pomona, KS, who was 3rd in the 400m dash with season best time of 1:06.59.
 
The teams travel to Bethel, KS, on April 12 to compete in the ACCK Track & Field Championships.
