Bethany College Head Volleyball Coach TeAna Crutcher-Tramel has announced her resignation.
Tramel has accepted a position as assistant volleyball coach at Washington State University in Pullman, Wash. Tramel was a graduate assistant under newly-named WSU head volleyball coach Andrew Palileo while he coached at South Dakota State. Washington State is a member of the NCAA Division I Pac-10 Conference.
Tramel coached the volleyball Swedes for two seasons. Her 2007 team finished the season 23-10 overall and 15-3 in conference play, earning a second place finish in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
With the team's recent accomplishments and a bright future ahead, Tramel said her decision to leave was a difficult one.
"At this point in my life and in my career, I felt it was a great opportunity to take the next step to the D-I level. I want to thank everyone at Bethany College, and I especially want to thank the amazing group of players I had the opportunity to coach and interact with on a daily basis. They have impacted my life greatly," Tramel said.
Athletic Director Jon Daniels said that Bethany has already taken the necessary steps to begin the search for a new volleyball coach.
