Catherine Spicer, a thrower from Bennett High School in Bennett, CO, became the 8th member of the women's 2008 Bethany College Track & Field recruiting class when she signed a letter of intent on April 10, 2008.  The daughter of James and Teresa Spicer, she has maintained a 3.8 GPA throughout high school and has yet to decide on her college major.

Spicer holds personal bests of 116-00.00 in the discus when and 35-04.50 in the shot put; both of these throws were at the 2006 Colorado State 3A Track & Field Championships where she placed 4th in the discus and 8th in the shot put.   

She will also participate in volleyball at Bethany.  In 2006, she earned All-State Honorable Mention and All-Conference First Team Honors in volleyball.
