With only a few opportunities to qualify for the 2008 NAIA National Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Edwardsville, IL, senior Anna Miller of Blue Rapids, KS, took advantage of the good weather and surpassed the NAIA "A" Standard in the discus at the Swede Last Chance Twilight at Anderson Track & Field Complex on May 8, 2008.
Setting a personal best with her performance at the meet, Miller won the discus with a throw of 140-11.00. This performance could rank her in the top 10 in the nation after this weekend's meets are completed.
Meanwhile, sophomore Amber Dunham of Independence, KS, improved her qualifying "B" mark in the javelin as she won the event with 129-08.00.
They will be joined by other members of the team as they travel to Emporia, KS, to compete in the ESU Last Chance Twilight on May 10.
