Jeffrey Aspergren, Lakewood, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bethany College for the 2008-2009 academic year.
"We are pleased to have Jeff choose to embark on his pre-med studies and continue his basketball career at Bethany College," head coach Clair Oleen said.
Aspegren is a 6'4", 205 lb. forward from Green Mountain High School in Lakewood. There he was a three-year starter averaging 13 ppg and 10 rebounds per game.
"Jeff is an incredible young man who is very active in his school and community. He is an excellent student as well as a fine basketball player who will be a tremendous asset to Bethany basketball," Oleen said.
Aspegren is the son of Don and Laura Aspegren, both Bethany alums. Don was a linebacker on the football team during his time at Bethany.
Aspegren has a 3.9 high school GPA. At Bethany he plans to study biology as part of the college's pre-medicine program.
