Head men's soccer coach Jeff Kidd is pleased to announce the signings of five student-athletes to join the Swedes 2008 recruiting class.

The Bethany College men's soccer program has announced the signing of five student-athletes for the 2008 season. Three of the athletes will be incoming freshman in 2008 while two are transfers. All five of the signees will come to Bethany from out of state, and they represent 3 different states in all. The signed student-athletes are listed below.

Logan Adams             - San Pedro, California

Hector De La Cruz      - San Pedro, California

Danny Jaime              - Pflugerville, Texas

James Fox                 - Wichita Falls, Texas

Robert Lopez            - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
         
Logan Adams is from San Pedro, California and attended Los Angeles Harbor College. A 6'1" goalkeeper, he has the ability to be a key part of our success next season. Logan started all year for LA Harbor where he spent 1780 minutes in the net with 150 saves giving up 30 goals for a 1.5169 G.A.A.

"Logan will come in to preseason with a very good chance to be our starting keeper," says head coach Jeff Kidd. "He has impressed me throughout the entire recruiting process. Not only is he a tremendous talent in the net but he has a great personality and work ethic. I feel that Logan will bring much needed experience and leadership to a very young program."

Logan is the son of Tony Adams and he plans on majoring in Pre Physical Therapy.
        
Hector De La Cruz is from San Pedro, California and also attended Los Angeles Harbor College. A 5'7" forward, he was a two year starter while at his junior college. During his sophomore campaign, he tallied 10 goals, 8 assists and was named team MVP.
 
"Hector will step in and become an immediate offensive threat for us," states Kidd. "He will bring skill, speed and finishing to our front line. I believe he is the type of kid that can be a game changing performer. He will also bring experience and leadership to our program."
       
Hector is the son of Hector De La Cruz and Veronica Gonzalez and plans on majoring in Business. 
    
 
Danny Jaime is from Pflugerville, Texas and attended Pflugerville High School. A 5'9" outside back, he started all four years on varsity. Danny also kicked for his high school football team and finished as the 2008 state runners-up.
   
 
"Danny is a defender that will be pushing for playing time from day one." states Kidd. "He will come in and raise the level of intensity in our practice sessions. It will be nice to add a strong physical kid like Danny to our program."
                         
Danny is the son of Rosa Jaime and plans to major in Art.
 

James Fox is from Wichita Falls, Texas and attended Rider High School. A 5'10" forward, he was a four year varsity starter. During his time at Rider he also spent time in the midfield. During his high school career he was an All-District, All-Region and All-State selection.

"James will add both strength and power to our front line," states Coach Kidd. "He has the build and the ability to make an immediate impact on our team. I'm really looking for James to show up in the fall ready to fight for a starting spot."

James is the son of Billy and Julie Fox and plans to major in Psychology.
 

Robert Lopez is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and attended Del City High School. A 5'10" defender/center mid, he has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. He was also a two year starter at both quarter back and linebacker for the football team

"Robert is a very physical player that can excel either as a midfielder or defender," said Kidd. "He has a lot of experience controlling the middle of the field. I can see Robert having a lot of success at this level in both positions."

Robert is the son of Joe and Katherine Lopez.
