Sariet Bennett, Strasburg, Colo., has signed a letter of intent to play basketball and participate in track and field for Bethany College for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Bennett is a 5'8" shooting guard and runs both the 800 M and the 4x800 relay. She previously attended Valley City State University, playing both basketball and outdoor track and field. At Strasburg High School, Bennett was a four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for basketball. She was named captain of her team her junior and senior years. She has been awarded both all conference and all state honors for basketball. Bennett also ran track for three years in high school, participating in the mile, 800 M, 4x800 relay, and the long jump. She earned the Principal's White Honor Roll honors, the 4-year excellence in a foreign language award (Spanish), was a member of the debate team and FBLA, and also participated in student council.

Bennett has a 3.1 GPA. At Bethany she plans to study pre-professional medicine.

Bennett is the daughter or Dwight and Sarah Guilbert and Elliot Bennett.
