Denise Hernandez, Pomona, Cali., has signed a letter of intent to play soccer and softball for Bethany College for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Hernandez is a 5'6" 2nd baseman and utility from Citrus College. There she played soccer and softball for two years. She previously attended Ganesha High School where she played volleyball, cross country, basketball, soccer, and softball. Hernandez earned second team all conference honors in volleyball, soccer, and softball in high school as well as scholar athlete and all academic league awards. In college, she earned second team all conference honors in softball, was a two-year scholar baller, and was named 2008 Women Athlete of the Year.

Hernandez has a 3.4 GPA. At Bethany she plans to study criminal justice.

Hernandez is the daughter of Juan and Lourdes Hernandez.
