WINFIELD, Kan. - The Swedes fell in three 25-11, 25-21, 25-21 tonight at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. With the loss the Swedes split on the season with the Moundbuilders and the fall to 9-18 overall and 7-11 in KCAC play.
Errors plagued the Swedes tonight making it difficult for them to gain any momentum over the Moundbuilders. In the first set the Swedes only had four kills and had twice as many attacking errors.
In set two the Swedes we able to keep the Builders in reach with Southwestern only having at most a five-point lead throughout the game. However, even with the Swedes hot on their tail the Builders managed to stay enough out of reach for Bethany and took the game.
The Swedes started out hot in game three even taking the lead after A 5-1 run in the first part of the game but Southwestern answered quickly with a five-point run of their own to take the lead back and keep it. The closest the Swedes would come for the test of the match was trailing by one point of 18-19 but a couple timely Swede errors and Builder kills would put the thought of a comeback out of everyone's heads.
