LINDSBORG, Kan. - With the 2017 Blue-Gold Spring Game rapidly approaching, Head Coach Paul Hubbard is excited about the production from both the offense and defense.

"We have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, a lot of playmakers that will produce on the field for us come this fall. On the Offense the quarterback battle has been a tight race this spring with three players with game experience," Hubbard states. "Im impressed with the leadership capabilities at the quaterback position, all the student-athletes have battled all spring and I look forward to them continuing to battle leading into fall camp."

Returners Michael Wimberly and Dalton Goodwin head up a talented group of wide receivers that look to make an impact in the Fall season.

"On the Defensive side, there are plenty of playmakers and guys with some experience. However, we are still looking for a couple of guys that can step up and really compete," Coach Hubbard said. "Sophomore linebacker, Corey Holmes is one player who has step up his game this spring. Corey has had good spring, his transition from the secondary to linebacker has been beneficial for him as well as the defense," Hubbard says.
Returning starters, Rhett Mizer and Jau'marl Clark have been leading the defense through a productive offseason.
The Swedes will compete against one another in the Blue-Gold Spring Game on Friday, April 21. The players have been drafted to their respective teams by the coaching staff.  Kickoff for the spring game starts at 7 p.m. at Anderson stadium.  Admission to the contest is free and open to the public.
