The Bethany College football team traveled to Wichita to take on Friends University this past Saturday.  Despite looking to come out on top, things didn't fall the way the Swedes had planned.

Friends started the game with a strong offensive drive and an attempted field goal, but missed their kick.  Bethany got their chance with the ball and unfortunately was not able to score first.  The Falcons got on the board with 8:54 in the first quarter on a touchdown pass.  The Swedes turned around and had a chance to score, but fumbled on 4th and goal.  Friends would score three more touchdowns, putting them up 27-0 at the half.

The Falcons added two more touchdowns in the third quarter before Bethany made a big defensive stop with 8:30 left in the game.  The Swedes got on the board with a touchdown run by senior Kavelle Gordon, giving them their first points of the night.  Despite blocking a field goal attempt in the last two minutes of play, Bethany could not tack on any more points, losing 42-6.

The Swedes are now 0-3 on the year.  They continue their season by traveling to Bethel College on Saturday, October 4th.  Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
