LINDSBORG, Kan. – The Bethany golf teams were back in action this week, competing in the Kansas Wesleyan Fall Invitational tournament. The women's team took fifth in the tournament while the second Swede team ended up fourth, and the first team landed sixth. 

The women were again led by senior, Aspen Bryant who ended up second overall in the tournament with her rounds of 79 and 75. Following Bryant was freshman, Savannah Pinson who ended the tournament tied for 13th overall. Pinson added rounds of 86 and 90 to the team total. Two other Swedes landed in the top 25; freshman, Marisa Loya posted scores of 96 and 89 to earn a tie for 23rd, and freshman, Joie Francis Ramirez landed in 25th with her rounds of 89 and 97. Finally, freshman Ger'Kayla Tunley tied for 36th thanks to her scores of 100 and 96.

"I am very proud of the women's team to come out and keep competing week after week," Swedes head coach, Dalton Stevens said. "I am especially proud of Aspen Bryant as she has fought for the tournament title in every tournament so far this year."

On the men's side, the Swedes were split into two different teams. The Bethany second team earned a fourth place finish with their score of 300, five strokes behind them was the Swedes main squad, earning sixth place.

Overall, the men landed three Swedes in the top 15. Senior, Nathan Limbacher hit rounds of 74 and 72 to tie for 12th, while senior, Juan Pablo Sin and freshman, Birgir Magnusson tied for 14th with their rounds of 74 and 73, and 69 and 78, respectively.

Two other Swedes landed in the top 25. Junior, Jorge Monagas del Rio earned a tie for 18th with his scores of 73 and 76, while freshman, Jose Maria Cunha tied for 22nd with his rounds of 77 and 73.

"I was really proud of the promise and composure the second men's team showed this tournament," said Coach Stevens. "Most of these guys are younger and them competing well in this tough field gives me something to get excited about for the future."

The Swedes are back in action on their home course next week, competing in the Central Christian Invitational. This tournament will take place on Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kan. on Monday, October 9 and Tuesday, October 10.
