The Bethany College women's soccer team continued their season this past week as they hosted the Bethel College Threshers Tuesday evening before hosting cross town rival Kansas Wesleyan University Saturday night.  Bethany split the week as they beat the Threshers 5-0 before losing a close game to the Coyotes 4-2.

The Swedes got on top quick Tuesday against Bethel as freshman Tara Rose scored off an assist from freshman Megan Xavier less than ten minutes into the game.  Later in the first half, the Swedes would add another goal as junior Carla Toler found the net on an assist from Rose.  Up 2-0 at the half, Bethany was not done yet.  The squad tacked on another point to the home side of the scoreboard as Rose scored unassisted.  Rose had quite the night against the Threshers as she scored her third goal of the game late in the second half off an assist from senior Megan Zeigel.  Bethany would hang on the remaining four minutes of the game to come out with a solid 4-0 victory.

Looking to keep their momentum after the big win over Bethel, the Swedes headed into their game Saturday night against Kansas Wesleyan.  Freshman Mychele Mendez scored for the Swedes in the first half off an assist from Ziegel.  Down 2-1 at halftime, Bethany would add another goal in the second half.  However, the Coyotes offense proved too strong for Bethany as they added two more goals, beating the Swedes 4-2.

Bethany continues their season this week as they travel to Friends University on Wednesday, October 29th.  Game time is set for 6 P.M.  The Swedes will end the week by hosting McPherson College on Saturday, November 1st at 11 A.M.  Bethany is now 4-3 in the KCAC and 11-4-1 overall.
