The Bethany College men's basketball began their season this past week as they traveled to Haskell Indian Nations University Tuesday night.  The Swedes turned around and hosted Manhattan Christian College Friday night.

Bethany looked to come out strong in their season opener.  After being down by four at halftime, the Swedes turned up the heat and tied the game with less than a minute left.  However, Haskell made a buzzer beating shot to beat Bethany 69-67.  Junior C.J. Littlejohn led the Swedes with 16 points.  Sophomore Justin Holcom added 13 while junior Brandon Miller had 10.  Littlejohn also added two assists.  Freshman Clayton Goggins made a huge impact for the Swedes "D" as he had four steals.  Miller added three steals while senior Brad Bietau had two as well.  Holcom stepped up the Bethany defense with a team-leading two blocked shots.

Looking to bounce back after a tough loss, Bethany took on Manhattan Christian College Friday evening in Hahn Gymnasium.  Down by one at halftime, the Swedes turned their offense up a notch and came out shooting in the second half.  Bethany would go on to win the game 74-68.  Holcom led the Swede offense with 17 points as Littlejohn had 15 and Miller added 10.  Holcom also had five assists while senior Marcus Wells tacked on three.  Miller led the Swede defense with two blocked shots.  Littlejohn, Holcom, and senior Kirby Nickel each had two steals.

Bethany is set to travel to Mid-America Christian on Tuesday, November 11th.  Tip off is set for 7:00 P.M.  The Swedes will then host Haskell Indian Nations University Saturday night at 7:30 P.M.  Bethany is now 1-1 overall.
