Senior outside hitter Lisa Runnebaum, Seneca, Kan., was named the KCAC Player of the Year for her efforts during the 2008 season. She also earned first team All-KCAC honors.

Runnebaum closed out her impressive collegiate career with 434 kills, averaging 4.0 per game and totaling a .253 hitting percentage. She also led the Swedes with 484 digs, giving her an average of 4.4 per game. In addition, Runnebaum racked up 48 assisted blocks and 19 solo blocks on the year, totaling 67.

The Swedes ended their season with a second place finish in both the KCAC regular season and the post-season tournanment, just barely missing a national tournament birth. Bethany was 19-10 overall.
