Bethany College plans to add a women's golf club team for the 2010-2011 academic year. Recruiting efforts currently are under way.

Athletic director and head men's golf coach Jon Daniels said the college decided to pursue a women's golf program in efforts to balance men's and women's athletic teams. Bethany hopes to attract student-athletes who previously would not have chosen Bethany because they wanted to play college golf.

According to Daniels, currently one incoming freshman has received a performance award and one current student has received a performance award. Several other current students also have high interests.

Those interested in playing golf at Bethany should fill out a questionnaire.

Currently four other KCAC schools offer women's golf programs.
