Leighanne Collister, Erica Stein, and Megan Zeigel have been named Daktronics-NAIA Soccer Scholar-Athletes for 2008.
 
"I'm very proud of all three of them," said head coach Steve Moore. "These girls have done just as well off the field as they have done on."

Collister is a junior forward from Omaha, Neb.  This is her first year receiving Scholar-Athlete honors.
 
Stein is a senior defender from Gypsum, Kan. Zeigel is a senior forward from Carbondale, Colo. Stein and Zeigel both received Scholar-Athlete honors for two consecutive years.

In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must be a junior or senior above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified as eligible.

Bethany College competes in 15 intercollegiate sports in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, as well as college-sponsored cheer and dance squads.  Since 1902, Bethany has won 140 conference championships.
