The Bethany College baseball team continued their season with a big game this past week. The Swedes headed south to battle undefeated number one nationally ranked Oklahoma City University.
In the one nine-inning game against the Stars, the Swedes played solid defense, holding Oklahoma City to five runs. However, the OCU pitching staff proved too strong for Bethany, allowing only three hits to juniors Wes Walker, Braden Friesz, and Kofi Osei-Aning. Despite their efforts, the Swedes fell 5-0. Junior Brian Guyett got the start for Bethany, facing 30 batters and striking out four. Seniors Cameron Rittinger and Rodney McFarlane came in as relief.
Bethany will continue their season on Sunday, March 8th, as they head to Lincoln, Nebraska for a doubleheader with Nebraska Wesleyan University. Game time is set for 1:00 pm. Bethany is now 10-7 on the year.
