Valdez won the long jump, triple jump and high hurdles and also took third in the pole vault. Becker captured winners in the shot put and discus, took second in the hammer throw, and placed eighth in the javelin. Becker's 14.90m (48' 10 3/4") shot put exceeds the standard for the national outdoor meet (12.57 or 12.95m).
Courtney Gallardo, Stephanie Wilson, Molly McElgunn and Jaci Kepler raced to a season's best 4:17.91 in the women's 4 x 400m relay while the men's quartet of Nick O'Laughlin, Hugo Escobar, James Bowden, and Ty Bieker finished in 3:27.49 to win their division.
It was overall a solid meet for the Swedes, which capped the early season action heading into Spring Break. While some team members were unable to compete due to travel arrangements, some will also be going to Hays next Saturday for the Alex Francis Invitational. Post-Spring Break action heats up the next week with the Texas Relays and the Hutch Night Relays.
