Competing at the Texas Relays in Austin, senior Jessica Becker finished sixth in the shot put in the women's university/college division.

The annual relays event at the University of Texas attracts a who's who in track and field in the United States, and Becker, despite continuing to battle a nagging hip injury, fired off a 14.86m throw (48' 9") on her fifth attempt to finish sixth. She has already qualified for the NAIA national outdoor meet in both the shot put and the discus.
