Andries Steyn, Graaff-Reinet, Eastern Province, South Africa, has signed a letter of intent to play golf at Bethany College for the 2009-2010 academic year.
Steyn is from Volkschool High. There, in addition to golf, he played rugby, cricket, and tennis. Steyn was the captain of two of those teams. He was named most versatile sportsman in the school for 2008 and 2009, won the tennis doubles championship both those years, and received honors for cricket and golf in both 2006 and 2009. Steyn was the headboy in the hostel and deputy headboy in the school as well as being a representative of the school council for two years. He has a 3.2 high school GPA.
Steyn is the son of GP and Marlett Steyn. At Bethany he plans to study economics/business and business management.
