The Bethany College baseball team returned to Anderson Field after a previous weekend split with the University of St. Mary.  The Swedes went head-to-head with Northwestern Oklahoma State University in a high-scoring hit fest.
   
Scoring in all but one inning, Bethany tallied 22 hits for a 17-10 victory.  Senior Hop Sullivan led the way with a 4-for-5 and five RBI performance.  Juniors Braden Friesz, Darrin Biegert, Kofi Osei-Aning, and Daryl Schlepp all added three hits apiece.  Seniors Craig Barnes and Andrew Vancil each added two hits while juniors Jimmy Smith and Jeremy Craig both had one.  Osei-Aning and Craig each tacked on three RBIs while Vancil and Friesz contributed two apiece and Schlepp had one.  Freshman Alexander Overstreet got the start for the Swedes while juniors Christian Martinez, Brian Wojtokiewicz, Aaron Larsen, and senior Cameron Rittinger came in as relief.  Wojtokiewicz got the win, facing 15 batters, striking out three and only giving up four hits in four innings pitched.

Bethany will host foe Kansas Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 15th for a 4:00 pm doubleheader. The Swedes will then battle Ottawa University in a home doubleheader on Friday, April 17th at 2:00 before heading to Ottawa on Saturday, April 18th to close the series.  The squad will then end the week with another nine-inning game at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on Sunday, April 19th.  Bethany is now 4-10 in the KCAC and 15-22 overall.
