The Bethany College baseball team finished their 2009 season this past week. The squad headed west to NCAA Division II foe Fort Hays State University last Tuesday.
The Tigers of FHSU jumped out to a quick lead, scoring 10 runs in the 2nd inning. They would add eight more runs before Bethany plated one in the seventh inning, beating the Swedes 18-1 in a seventh inning run rule. Senior Craig Barnes and junior Wes Walker each had two hits while juniors Aaron Larsen, Darrin Biegert, and Jeremy Craig all had one hit. Freshman Vic Clark had the lone RBI. Sophomore T.D. Huett got the start while senior Rodney McFarlane and juniors Josue Iniguez and Brian Wojtkiewicz came in as relief.
Bethany ends their season with a 6-18 KCAC record. The Swedes finished 17-32 overall.
