Stephanie Adamson and Shannon "Liz" Stroh recently were honored for their academic achievement by the Kansas Athletic Trainers' Society (KATS).
KATS honors undergraduate athletic training students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic achievement in accredited athletic training education programs in the state of Kansas.
Adamson, Byers, Colo., was awarded second team all-academic honors. Second team honorees must have been a full-time undergraduate student with a junior status or higher, and have maintained a minimum 3.6 grade point average.
Adamson also was a member of the Bethany volleyball team.
Stroh, Wamego, Kan., was awarded honorable mention all-academic honors. Honorable mention honorees must have been a full-time undergraduate student with a junior status or higher, and have maintained a minimum 3.4 grade point average.
The Bethany College Athletic Training Education Program is fully accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Only 8-12 students are accepted each year into Bethany's program. Five other schools in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference and 14 Kansas colleges have undergraduate accredited athletic training education programs.
Athletic trainers are allied health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses, often with a focus on athletes and athletic injuries. KATS helps assure top quality health care to the physically active in Kansas, and promotes and increases knowledge of the profession of athletic training to the citizens of the state of Kansas.
