Durant is a 5'10", 160 lb. point guard from Denver South High School. There he averaged 7.9 ppg., 1.6 rpg., three steals/game and three assists/game. At South High, Durant was awarded the IBM Colorado High School Athletics Association Hero Award for Academic and Athletic accomplishments. He also earned his school's excellence award in multimedia.

"We look for Brynt to develop through our junior varsity program this coming year. He is a fine young man and we look forward to the Durant family joining Bethany basketball," head coach Clair Oleen said. He added that Durant comes to Bethany from a basketball family, as his father is the women's coach at Johnson and Wales University in Denver.

Durant is the son of Clifton and Maria Durant. He has a 3.5 high school GPA. At Bethany he plans to study business management.
